Who we are looking for
opendorse is hiring a motivated Senior Director, Business Development with entrepreneurial drive and outstanding sales experience. This candidate will be tasked with selling our technology and managed service offering to brands and professional sports teams. This sales executive will focus on building and scaling the business, requiring a track record of successfully generating revenue in business development and sales roles (preferably in sports and/or digital media). They will be responsible for demonstrating opendorse’s platform and capabilities to marketing departments at professional sports properties.
The candidate should have a comprehensive understanding of B2B sales process in the SaaS environment, how to navigate buying committees, and generate new business within the sports ecosystem.
This role will report to the President and will work alongside our Account Executives, SDRs, and marketing team to ensure quarterly bookings targets are achieved. The candidate will help grow opendorse’s pro sports team partner base by leading new business pursuits through independent action - from initial outreach to qualifying, demonstrating products and services, positioning, presenting, negotiating, and closing of business.
+ Manage a full sales cycle, prospecting customers via phone, email, referrals, social, etc.
+ Research and identify new business opportunities using prospecting tools
+ Identify appropriate contacts, qualify and drive leads to sales pipeline
+ Demo opendorse’s platform and capabilities to marketing teams at professional sports teams
+ Create compelling sales proposals, present appropriate solutions, and negotiate contracts
+ Engage in technical discussions with potential clients through product demonstrations and presentations with Director, VP, and C Level prospects
+ Manage accounts and contacts within HubSpot through entire sales lifecycle
+ Forecast lead and target plans that align to company quarterly bookings targets
+ 5 – 7 years of B2B sales experience (SaaS preferred)
+ Proven track record of building and owning a pipeline of new business
+ Experience selling to buying committees and/or channel partners
+ Understanding of the sports ecosystem
+ Knowledge and experience working with CRM (HubSpot preferred)
+ Ability to take initiative, work independently, and manage up effectively
+ Ability to embrace feedback and hold yourself accountable
+ Excellent communication and writing skills
+ Experience making professional presentations and writing compelling proposals
+ Solid understanding of the digital/social/sports landscape including trends, key players, terminology and overall knowledge of sponsors, licensees, and right’s holders
+ Existing relationships with senior-level contacts at properties, publishers, advertisers and other brands who can be leveraged for new business opportunities
+ Experience selling in startup environments - targeting emerging customer segments and educating market on newly formed offering
